Description
This male brackish water fiddler crab appeared on Ocracoke Island on 5/24/17. The Ocracoke fiddlers are much bolder those on the North Carolina mainland, standing their ground while their mainland counterparts dash for the nearest hole at the sight of a human.
Tied with two others for third place in the Claws and Talons - Photography FAA contest, ending 12/23/22. Thank you, Larry Kniskern, for generously allowing the three of us to share this distinction!
